Abaíra , officially Município de Abaíra , is a small town in the central south of the Brazilian state of Bahia .
Toponymy
Abaíra comes from the Tupi language and means honey fullness , formed from the words abá (fullness) and a'yra (honey).
history
The municipality received the right to self-government on February 22, 1962 when it was outsourced from Piatã .
