The Abzucht , also known as the Wintertalbach in the upper reaches , is a 12.1 km long orographic left tributary of the Oker in Lower Saxony . The brook flows through the city of Goslar .
geography
The bred rises in the upper winter valley as a winter valley stream at an altitude of 722 m above sea level. NN . The source is on the northeast flank of the Schalke . From here the stream initially flows in a north-easterly direction. About one kilometer above the Goslar city edge there since about 2012, a transition structure in the Harzwasserwerke which increased outflow of the water under crossing over a weir and a hole in the valley Oker-Grane cleats can take to make it in the Granetalsperre prepare to drinking water. Immediately on the outskirts of Goslar, west of the Rammelsberg , the breeding in the Herzberger pond is dammed. Below the pond, the brook channels the area of the ore mine Rammelsberg and then reaches the southern outskirts of Goslar . Here the offspring flows together with the significantly larger Gose coming from the left and now takes on the latter's eastern flow direction. After the Abzucht has flowed through the old town of Goslar, it flows, accompanied by the B 498 , in the direction of the Goslar district of Oker , to the left at 192 m above sea level. NN to flow into the river Oker .
On its 12.1 km long path, the Abzucht overcomes a height difference of 530 m, which corresponds to a mean bed slope of 43.8 ‰. The brook drains a 31.61 km² catchment area via Oker , Aller and Weser into the North Sea .
history
While the water of the Gose could be used to brew beer ( Gose beer ), the breeding was heavily burdened by the mining on the Rammelsberg. The name is derived from the removal of the polluted hut water.
In the area of the winter valley and the mining facilities on the Rammelsberg, breeding drove water wheels and was used for washing ore. Within the city walls of Goslar and on its way to the confluence with the Oker, its water, already increased by the drainage of the Gose, drove numerous waterwheels from mills, fulling mills or sawmills.
While the Gose ran through the city center in three arms up to the 19th century, today only the stone walled breeding appears in the cityscape. The earlier course of the Gose can still be guessed from the street names such as An der Gose , Gosewinkel or Gosestraße .
