history
The first documentary evidence from 1479 proves the existence of a Latin school . In 1894 this was converted into a Progymnasium with six grades. In 1945 the school was closed due to the war and converted into a hospital . A partial closure of the new building was necessary in 1989 due to excessive pollutant emissions. In 1992 the school became a “ volleyball base school ” and in 1995 the construction of a photovoltaic system on the roof of the atrium began. In 1997 the school became a model school for “ Schools on the Net ” and “ Microsoft ”. Since 2003 there has been a cooperation agreement with the Technical Faculty in Erlangen and the Niehoff company to promote the next generation of scientists. Another new building was completed in 2007. The cafeteria set up there offers the students two different dishes for lunch on weekdays.
