Adam Friedrich von Trampe (born March 4, 1650 in Tentzerow , † April 26, 1704 in Pressburg ) was a Danish general.

Life

Adam Friedrich was a son of Philipp von Trampe (* around 1612 in Teetzleben ; † 1654 ibid), commandant of Ueckermünde , and Elisabeth von Krassow . At 18, he joined Danish military service, was in 1670 to Ensign , 1672 to lieutenant and in 1676 for Captain transported. During the Northern War he was captured near Helsingborg in 1676 . He escaped and was wounded in the storm on Malmö the following year . In 1677 he was promoted to major and in 1678 to lieutenant colonel.

Like many other officers of German descent, Trampe married a Dane in 1683 and spent several years of peace at home. This time was interrupted in 1686 by the Danish siege of Hamburg . He was popular with King Christian V , who appointed him mentor to his son Christian Gyldenløve (1674–1703). Trampe followed this in the years 1691 to 1694 in the Palatinate War of Succession . The king's son harassed the overseer, who was annoying to him, but the king rewarded him in 1693 with the appointment of brigadier and Marshal François-Henri de Montmorency-Luxembourg praised his bravery.

On his return he bought the Løgismose and Flenstofte estates . From 1696 to 1698, as major general, he led a small auxiliary corps in imperial service. In the last year of this period, the troops and their boss were left to the Polish King August II . Just as Trampe stopped at the emperor, he also won the king's favor. In 1699 he returned to Denmark. In the following year he was sent on a diplomatic mission to the court of August II, who again asked for auxiliary troops. The few regiments provided by Frederick IV , however, were of little use. Trampe stayed in Saxony-Poland . When he expressed his disappointment that in 1701 he was not at the head of the new Danish auxiliary corps for the emperor, Frederick IV awarded him the Dannebrogden in 1702 . The following year he was promoted to lieutenant general and was ordered to replace Christian Gyldenløve as chief of the auxiliary corps.

He led the Danish troops from Italy to Hungary, where he fought against the rebellious Kuruzen among others on the island of Schütt in 1704 . At this point he was already seriously ill. Shortly after Emperor Leopold I had elevated him to the rank of imperial count , he died. His body was brought to Copenhagen .
