Adolf Borbstaedt

Adolf Borbstaedt (* July 8, 1803 in Gumbinnen , † June 14, 1873 in Berlin ) was a Prussian colonel and editor of the military weekly .

Life

Borbstaedt's father was a government building officer . After his education in the cadet corps , Borbstaedt was transferred to the 7th Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army in 1820 as a second lieutenant . Since 1825 he was part of the officer corps of the Berlin Cadet House . In 1840 Borbstaedt officiated as captain and company commander at the cadet institute in Wahlstatt .

In 1847 he married Hermine von Massow, née Kittel. His wife and child died of cholera in Prussian Stargard , while in 1852 he was commander of the III. Battalion of the 5th  Landwehr Regiment .

From 1867 to 1873 Borbstaedt headed the editorial department of the military weekly paper.

Borbstaedt succumbed to severe kidney disease on June 14, 1873 at the age of 69 in the St. Hedwig Hospital in Berlin . Two days later he was buried in the Invalidenfriedhof . The tomb has not been preserved.
