Adolf Frey-Moock

Adolf Frey-Moock (born August 11, 1881 in Jona in the canton of St. Gallen , † June 25, 1954 in Steinebrunn or Affeltrangen in the canton of Thurgau ) was a Swiss painter who also worked in Munich .

Adolf Frey-Moock came from a farming family. After the apprenticeship in church fresco painting, he studied from October 30, 1904 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Karl Raupp and Wilhelm von Diez and in 1909 became Franz von Stuck's assistant in his studio.

In Frey-Moock's works, the influence of Franz von Stuck and Arnold Böcklin is noticeable. He showed his pictures in the exhibitions of the Munich artists' association Die Independentigen . In the 1930s Frey-Moock lived in Nördlingen , then again in Munich, and finally he returned to Switzerland.
