Adolf VI. (Holstein-Schauenburg)
Adolf VI. (* 1256 ; † May 13, 1315 ) was a count in Holstein and in the Schaumburg area (then even Schauenburg) in the High Middle Ages.
Domination
He was the third son of Gerhard I von Holstein-Itzehoe and Elisabeth von Mecklenburg . As part of an inheritance division of the Schauenburg counts , he received Holstein-Pinneberg in 1290 and the ancestral county of Schauenburg (later: Schaumburg). He founded the Younger House of Schaumburg here, while the Plön line went back to his brother Gerhard and the Rendsburger line to Heinrich .
Adolf was mostly in the south of the Elbe in his county of Schaumburg. In 1298 he issued the city of Gehrden's letter of freedom . In 1302 he built the moated castle Bückeburg on Hellweg in front of Santforde . The name of this castle was taken from a desert castle near Obernkirchen and first mentioned in 1304.
