Heinrich I von Holstein-Rendsburg (* 1258 , † 1304 ) was the first Count of Holstein-Rendsburg from the house of the Counts of Schauenburg and Holstein .

Life

He was a son of Gerhard I von Holstein-Itzehoe († 1290) and Elisabeth von Mecklenburg († approx. 1280). 1285 he could Waldemar of Schleswig from captivity of the Danish king Erik V. free. After the death of their father, the surviving sons divided the county of Holstein-Itzehoe among themselves. Heinrich was awarded when Rendsburg was divided. He was repeatedly at war with the Dithmarschers .

Shortly before his death, he introduced a customs duty for foreign goods, By the crane . Half of the customs went to Hamburg and the rest in equal parts to Holstein-Pinneberg and Holstein-Rendsburg. After the last Schauenburg line died out in 1640, its share of the customs duty went to the Duchy of Holstein , with the Gottorf settlement of 1768 it fell entirely to Hamburg.

family

In 1289 he married Heilwig (1265-after 1324) the daughter of Count Floris von Bronkhorst . The couple had the following children:
