Aeolis (Gradfeld)

The Aeolis - degree field one of the 30 degree field of Mars . They were established by the United States Geological Survey ( USGS ). The number is MC-23, the degree field covers the area from 180 ° to 225 ° west longitude and from −30 ° to 0 ° south latitude . It is known for two well-known landing sites, the Spirit (spacecraft) at 14 ° 34 ′ 18.5 ″  S , 175 ° 28 ′ 42.6 ″  E in Gusev Crater on January 4, 2004, and the Mars Science Laboratory in Gale Crater at 4 ° 35 ′ 30.5 ″  S , 137 ° 26 ′ 24.9 ″  E on August 6, 2012.
