Arcadia (Gradfeld)

The Arcadia - degree field one of the 30 degree field of Mars . They were established by the United States Geological Survey ( USGS ). The number is MC-3, the degree field covers the area from 60 ° to 120 ° west longitude and from 30 ° to 65 ° south latitude .

The name comes from an albedo feature in the range of 45 ° N and 260 ° E on Mars, the area was named after Arcadia , a mountain region in southern Greece . The name was released by the International Astronomical Union in 1958 . In the Gradfeld there is Alba Patera , the largest volcano in the solar system in terms of area and volume , and Tempe Terra , a highly rugged area the size of Alaska .
