Agneepath is a Bollywood - action film directed by Karan Malhotra with Hrithik Roshan in the lead role and Sanjay Dutt as antagonist . The film is an official remake of the Agneepath film .

In the island village of Mandwa, the school teacher Dinanath Chauhan is highly respected by the villagers. The village chief, who in the eyes of the citizens is extremely jealous of Dinanath's popularity, calls on his evil son Kancha to destroy Dinanath's image in the eyes of the citizens. Kancha also has plans to start a drug cartel from Mandwa, knowing that Mandwa soil is rich for cocaine cultivation. When Kancha asks the people to lend him their land on the pretext of expanding Mandwa's salt industry, Dinanath advises the villagers against it. Kancha knows this and decides to get rid of the school teacher. He ambushes and murders a young girl at school and accuses Chauhan of murder. With the support of the villagers, Kancha kills Chauhan by hanging him to death on a tree testified by young Vijay Chauhan, the teacher's son. Vijay Chauhan leaves the village with his pregnant mother Suhasini Chauhan. They find shelter in the city of Dongri in Mumbai, but Vijay intends to return to Mandwa and kill Kancha. In Mumbai, Vijay's mother gives birth to a baby girl named Shiksha. Vijay is attracted to Rauf Lala, a local girl trafficker and above all an enemy of Kancha, and wants to join his company. He earned his favor by refusing to stand trial as a witness to a crime committed by Lala and joining his gang. Meanwhile, his mother and little sister left Vijay's side when he killed a corrupt police officer and resorted to violence at a young age.
