life and career

Mitchell, who was born near Boston to an American mother and an Irish father, grew up in the coastal city of Hull until the age of three and a half and moved to Galway , the city of his father's birth , in June 1997 . He lived there for the next seven years of his life and came to acting in Galway when he made his debut at the Town Hall Theater in the play Oliver Twist as Bill Sikesfrom Galway gave. Already at the age of six he took work as a theater actor very seriously and in his childhood he drummed up his family and friends and tried to make films with them in front of his own camera at home. The basis for this were scripts that he himself had written at a young age. After he returned to the United States with his family in the summer of 2004 and moved to San Diego , California , the young Aidan Mitchell became aware of Hollywood in the spring of 2005.

At the beginning of his career he was trained by a dialect trainer, as his Irish dialect was very strong. Mitchell's first notable film role came a few months later when he played British boy Simon McCallister in The TV Set . He took on another role in the film Simple Things , where he played an important supporting role with the role of Nate Gibbs alongside more experienced actors such as Cameron Bancroft , Bellamy Young , Joshua Leonard or Amber Benson . At the International Family Film Festival 2007 he received the award for “Best Supporting Child Actor” for this role. Mitchell finally took a big step in the film and television business in 2008 when he was offered the role of Sam Malloy in the Emmy- nominated US television series The Riches . In the series produced from 2007 to 2008, he played one of the leading roles and was seen in all 20 episodes broadcast.

For his appearance in the series he was even nominated for the Young Artist Award of 2008 , but did not receive the award in the respective category. Mitchell made a guest appearance in 2008 in Law & Order: New York , the first offshoot of the US hit series Law & Order . The committed young actor had another brief appearance in 2009 in the less successful Suspene - Thriller In My Sleep , in which Philip Winchester, among others , starred, but also more experienced actors such as Lacey Chabert , Abigail Spencer , Beth Grant , Kelly Overton , Michael Badalucco or Tony Hale , participated. Mitchell made another guest appearance in an episode of The Glades in 2010. He also had a small role in the hit movie Shutter Island in 2010 .
