Bellamy Young (* 19th February 1970 in Asheville , North Carolina as Amy Young ) is an American actress , film producer and singer , mainly for her role as wife of the US president Mellie Grant in the ABC - series Scandal is known.

life and career

Young was named North Carolina's Junior Miss in 1987 . Following high school, she studied at Yale University and the University of Oxford, UK .

After returning to the United States, Young appeared in numerous Broadway productions. She played Mary in Cy Coleman's The Life and Margaret in Randy Newman's Fist .

In Germany , Young is known to audiences from numerous films and series. She played minor roles in the films We Were Heroes (2002) and Mission: Impossible III (2006). In the series Scrubs , Young played surgeon Dr. Miller , who drives the young doctor Chris Turk crazy. In nine episodes, she appeared on the series Dirty Sexy Money as Ellen Darling .

Young was in a relationship with fellow American actor Joshua Leonard from 2000 to 2002 . She has been in a relationship with fellow British actor Ed Weeks since 2016 .

Young has been vegan since she was in college.
