Felice Scandone Avellino , fully Società Sportiva Felice Scandone 1948 Avellino , is a basketball club based in Avellino, Italy . Since 2011 he has been running under the sponsor name Sidigas Avellino . The club was founded in 1948 and has been in the top Italian league since 2000 . The greatest success was the cup victory in 2008. The club plays home games in the 5,100-seat Palasport Del Mauro hall .
In 1997 Felice Scandone Avellino rose to the A2 series and 2000 to the A1 series. The most successful year in the club's history so far was the 2007/08 season, in which Avellino won the national cup and reached the semi-finals of the Italian championship. In the following season , the club was therefore represented in the ULEB Euroleague for the first time .
After the end of the 2018/19 season, the club withdrew from the professional sector due to financial problems of the main sponsor and signed up for Serie B.
