Air Lituanica was a Lithuanian airline based in Vilnius and based at Vilnius Airport .
history
Air Lituanica was founded on May 1st, 2013 by the municipality of Vilnius (under the leadership of Zuokas ) as the main shareholder with other investors. Flight operations began on June 30, 2013, the company was supported by Estonian Air from Estonia .
On November 27, 2013, however, Estonian Air canceled all contracts with Air Lituanica due to unpaid invoices.
In 2014, a total of 132,000 passengers were carried across the network.
On May 22, 2015, only a few flights took place, the rest of them were stopped. Flight operations ceased on May 23, 2015. The Latvian company Air Baltic took over some of the Lituanica flights until the end of May 2015. Air Lituanica passengers fly with Air Baltic on routes to and from Munich, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Brussels, Prague, Paris, Billund, Stockholm, Vilnius and Tallinn . The company offered Berlin-Tegel, Hamburg and Munich three Germany destinations from the Lithuanian capital.
