history

Manor house on Gut Gothensee

The Livonian line began with Christian Friedrich Ackermann, the third son of the pastor in Zeitz Christian August Ackermann (1688–1762). Since his father died early, he grew up in the house of Baron von Seckendorf on the Meuselwitz manor . He attended the University of Leipzig and studied law , after which he moved to Riga in 1796 and became tutor to Christoph Adam von Richter . Then he was council syndic in Walk in 1799 and settled in Dorpat in 1802 . Here he held the office of mayor of justice. Since 1800 he wrote himself in the Swedish way Åkerman, "This spelling, which differs from the original, is linked by the family with a tradition according to which their ancestor came to Saxony with the troops of Gustav Adolph (1594–1632) from Sweden." In 1819 he was awarded the Russian Order of Saint Anne (3rd class) and acquired the Russian nobility as a result .

His son Plato Theodor von Akermann (1809-1891) acquired the manor Kodjerw in 1856, converted it into a Fideikommiss and named it Gothensee. His son Arthur von Akerman received the Livonian indigenous class in 1887 and was entered in the Livonian knighthood's register of nobility under the matriculation number 440 and the name Akerman .
