Career

society

Kaçmaz was born in the Turkish capital Ankara and started playing football on the street. During his school education he also played for various school teams. Parallel to his school career, he began his club career with the amateur club Ankara Doğanspor . He played for this club until the summer of 1950 and moved to the Hacettepe GK club, which was very popular in Ankara at the time . His work at Hacettepe also gave him the opportunity to play in front of a wider audience. He was noticed by those responsible for Fenerbahçe Istanbul , who then brought him to the Bosporus in the summer of 1951 . A decisive factor for this change was the fact that Kaçmaz intended to attend a business high school in Istanbul . Since he was able to achieve his intention with his move to Fenerbahçe, he agreed.

The one who switched to the blue-yellow conquered a regular place straight away. At that time, there was no national professional league in Turkey. Instead, regional leagues existed in metropolitan areas such as Istanbul , Ankara and Izmir , of which the İstanbul Profesyonel Ligi (German: Istanbul Professional League ) was considered the most renowned. Fenerbahçe played as the Istanbul team in the Istanbul professional league and, with Galatasaray Istanbul and Beşiktaş Istanbul, was one of the three strongest teams in this league. Kaçmaz completed 31 of the 32 possible league games in his first two seasons. In the season 1952/53 Kaçmaz reached with his club the championship of the league and thus his first title win at club level. The following three seasons did not always play Kaçmaz in the starting line-up at Fenerbahçe. In the summer of 1956, László Székely took over the coaching position at Fenerbahçe again. The coach under whom Kaçmaz had played his first two seasons at Fenerbahçe. With this coach Kaçmaz played again regularly in the team. His team was able to win the championship of the Istanbul professional league again at the end of the season after four years. Despite this success, Székely left the club at the end of the season and was replaced by his compatriot Ignác Molnár . Under this coach Kaçmaz came the first season on the role of a supplementary player. So he completed only five league games by the end of the season. In the following season Kaçmaz also fought for a regular place under this coach. At the end of the season you could win the championship of the Istanbul professional league again.

From the spring of 1959 he took part with Fenerbahçe in the newly founded and nationwide Millî Lig , now known as Süper Lig. The first season was played from February 1959 to June 1959. With the championship of this league, Kaçmaz and his team became the first Turkish champions . In the second season of this league failed to defend the title. So they became runner- up behind Beşiktaş Istanbul . In the 1960/61 season Kaçmaz lost his regular place and completed only three league games. His team fought head-to-head with Galatasaray Istanbul over the entire season and became Turkish champions for the second time by one point.

After Kaçmaz mostly sat on the bench in his last season at Fenerbahçe and a change was suggested to him by the coaching staff, he negotiated with several top division clubs in the 1961 summer transfer period. On the last day of the transfer period, he then moved to the city and league rivals Karagümrük SK . At his new club, he had a mixed season. Although he did not always play in the starting XI, he completed 23 of the possible 38 league games.

After a season at Karagümrük SK, Kaçmaz negotiated with some clubs from Germany . Kaçmaz already thought about switching to a German club three years ago, but decided differently at the last minute. In the summer of 1962, he was negotiating with the 1961 in the Oberliga Süd ascended TSV Schwaben Augsburg and agreed on a change. At his new club, he immediately established himself in the team and played the next three seasons for this club.

In the summer of 1965 Kaçmaz returned to his homeland and hired the second division Bandırmaspor . After he worked for this club for some time, he ended his playing career.

National team

Kaçmaz national team career began with the fact that he was elected to the squad of the Turkish national team in a friendly against the Spanish national team on June 8, 1952 . During this game he sat on the bench and did not play. He played in left midfield and was nominated as a replacement for Rober Eryol , who was placed in this position .

About a year later, Kaçmaz was elected to the squad of the Turkish U-18 national team at the 1953 UEFA youth tournament . In this tournament, the Turkish U-18s achieved third place with a 3-2 win over the Spanish U-18 national team. Kaçmaz completed four games during the tournament and scored one goal.

In 1953 he was selected for a test match in the squad of the second selection of the Turkish national team . In the game against Switzerland's second guard , Kaçmaz completed his only international match for the Turkish A2 national team.

About a month after his service for the second guard of Turkey, he received a nomination for the regular Turkish national team as part of a friendship with the Yugoslav national team . In the game of June 5, 1953, he played the full length of the game and thus completed his only international match.

As the next national match nomination, he was appointed to the squad of Turkey for the 1954 World Cup . At the end of the group stage, they finished second in the table, tied with the German selection . Although they had the better goal difference, according to the rules at the time, the group runners-up was determined by a play-off between these two teams. Germany decided this encounter 7-2 for themselves. Due to the great competition in left midfield with Rober Eryol at the time, Kaçmaz did not play a game during the tournament.
