The Albach is an almost 7 km long right and northwest tributary of the Wetter in the south of the Vorderen Vogelsberg .

The Albach rises at a height of about 240 m above sea level. NHN northeast of the Fernwald district of Albach .
It initially flows in a westerly direction. After crossing under Albacher Straße (L3129) it changes direction to the south in a sharp bend. After flowing through the Mönchsäcker it changes its direction of flow to the southwest and reaches the village of the same name Albach . Shortly after leaving the village, it changes direction to the south-southeast, its main flow direction, which it maintains until the mouth. South of the Mühlberg , the Albach is reinforced by the Steinbach . Not far from there is a sewage treatment plant. After crossing under the B 457 , he reaches the Lich district .
It flows through three more ponds and finally flows into the eastern edge of Lich and south of the intersection B 457 / Oberstadt at an altitude of about 240 m above sea level. NHN from the right and north-northwest in the approaching weather from the east .
Its 6.7 km long run ends about 71 meters below its source, so it has an average bottom gradient of about 11 ‰.
Catchment area
The 16.78 km² catchment area of the Albach is located in the Vorderen Vogelsberg and is drained to the North Sea via the Wetter, the Nidda , the Main and the Rhine .
It borders
- in the northeast to that of the Jossoller , which drains over the Wieseck into the Lahn
- to the west with that of the gap Bach , who in the Lahn inflow Kleebach opens

The Albach is a coarse material rich silicate low mountain range. Its catchment area is 1,678.54 hectares and its mean discharge (MQ) is 62 liters per second. The ecological condition of the stream is assessed as unsatisfactory.
