A boulder discovered during the construction of the Wangen - Hergatz railway line in 1890 was redesigned three years later as a warrior and imperial memorial and erected in Wangen in front of the school building on Lindauer Strasse. The stone was adorned with an imperial eagle, an imperial medallion and a cartouche . The design was made by Theophil Frey , the work was carried out by Gäckle. The memorial depicted on a poster by Eugen Felle is now no longer in place: it had to be relocated as early as 1905 due to road construction work, and it was dismantled in the 1960s. The applications that were once attached to the boulder are now in the Wangen city archive.
