Albert Krebs (born August 21, 1951 in Kirchgandern ) is a former German football player .

Athletic career

BSG and club stations

Albert Krebs, who started playing football in 1961 under Oskar Leine at BSG Traktor Berlstedt, came to SC Turbine Erfurt in September 1964 at the age of 13 . He first played as a half-forward and was later a central defender or midfielder.

From May 1969 to December 1977 he was a member of the Erfurt first team and played a total of 129 games in the GDR league , in which he scored seven goals. He was also on the field in 20 FDGB cup games and scored five goals. For health reasons, Albert Krebs had to end his active career at the age of 26.

In the youth national teams of the GDR he came to a total of 28 missions. Among other things, he was there when the GDR youth team won the UEFA youth tournament in Scotland in 1970 , which was the forerunner of the European Junior Championship. On May 28, 1975 he came in Halle in the 1: 2 against Poland for his only appearance in the national soccer team of the GDR . The trade journal fuwo rated him as follows: “For the Erfurt debutante, who did not disappoint, it was a real problem game. First Szarmach , who was as unpredictable as he was constantly lamenting , and then cunning Marx challenged his will to assert himself. He must cover skin closer to the danger of being played out in a small space to escape, class striker. " . A good year before his debut, the Erfurt player had already been in the GDR's provisional squad for the 1974 World Cup in the Federal Republic , but was not one of the finalists nominated by coach Georg Buschner .

Coaching career

After his active career, he first worked in the youth division of FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt and in 1983 became coach of the second team, which he led into the second-rate GDR league . From 1986 to 1988 he was trainer at Motor Nordhausen for two years , from 1988 to 1991 at Einheit Wernigerode and from 1991 to 1993 at SSV Erfurt-Nord .

From 1993 he was coach of SV Rudisleben-Arnstadt in the Thuringia League , before he took over the second team from Rot-Weiß Erfurt again in 2001. In the 2004/05 season, the team was Thuringian champions under Albert Krebs and thus rose to the NOFV-Oberliga Süd , where the team took 7th place in the first season. In addition, the second team won the Thuringia Cup in 2005 . On penalties they defeated in Gera Friendship Stadium to FC Carl Zeiss Jena . In the first round of the 2005/06 DFB Cup , the team met Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen and lost 8-0.

For the 2010/11 season, Albert Krebs and his assistant coach Uwe Abel took over the Thuringian regional class FC Wartburgstadt Eisenach . From 2011 to 2016 Albert Krebs was the coach of FC Blau Weiß Dachwig / Döllstädt, which he led into the Thuringian Football League for the second year . In the same division, the coach coached FC An der Fahner Höhe from 2016 to 2017.
