Trivia
Occasionally Albert Thierfelder is confused with his namesake, the pathologist (Ferdinand) Albert Thierfelder (1842–1908), also a university professor in Rostock. Both worked at the same time at the University of Rostock; Their two terms of office also coincide in some areas with that of (Ferdinand) Albert's older brother Theodor Thierfelder (1824–1904).
