Albert von Bülow

Ernst Friedrich Albert von Bülow (born August 15, 1829 in Berlin ; † May 9, 1892 there ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Albert came from the Mecklenburg primeval noble family von Bülow . He was the second eldest son of the Prussian Legation Councilor Friedrich Karl von Bülow (1789-1853) and his wife Pauline, née von Carlowitz .

On April 22nd, 1847, Bülow joined the 1st Guard Regiment on foot in the Prussian Army as an ensign . There he received his patent as a secondary lieutenant on May 10, 1849 and attended the General War School from 1852 to 1855 .

Continuing his military career Bulow commanded from 13 May 1880 to 15 May 1885. 2. Magdeburgische Infantry Regiment. 27 and subsequently as a major general with the statutory board for disposition made.

In 1866 he married Marie Friederike Emilie Karoline Freiin von Meerheimb (1835–1925) in Gnemern . From this marriage the daughter Elisabeth and the three sons Friedrich , Jaspar and Rudolf emerged. Rudolf von Bülow (1873–1955) embarked on a diplomatic career.

Albert von Bülow died in Berlin in 1892 at the age of 62. His preserved grave is in the Trinity Cemetery I in Berlin-Kreuzberg . A simple stone cross on a base serves as a grave marker. Bülow rests at the side of his wife Marie, nee. from Meerheimb.

Honors

The Kapellen-Verein erected a memorial plaque for him in Berlin because he had successfully managed the construction of the Peace Church there.
