Albrecht Wegener

Albrecht Friedrich Heinrich Wegener (born August 3, 1905 in Lübeck , † April 7, 1973 in Ulm ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Born as the son of an Oberzugführer, Wegener studied law in Rostock and Göttingen after attending the secondary school in Malchin . During his studies in 1924 he became a member of the Obotritia Rostock fraternity . In 1927 he passed his legal traineeship and was awarded a Dr. iur. PhD . In 1930 he became a member of the NSDAP (membership number 385.250). After his assessor exam in 1932, he became a lawyer and notary in Teterow . From 1932 to 1933 he was mayor in Gnoien , from 1935 to 1941 mayor of Kolberg . In the Second World War he took part from 1940 as a volunteer in a tank destroyer division ( French campaign ), later in the 383rd Infantry Division . There he was transferred to the 545th Infantry Division as a reserve lieutenant and orderly officer after being wounded two times. In 1945 he was able to flee to Plauen , where he worked for three days as mayor and district office manager for local politics before he was interned and taken to Kornwestheim . In 1948 he was released and went to Langenau , then to Ulm, where he initially worked as an unskilled worker in a law firm. He later became an independent lawyer again.
