Aleksandar Stevanović (born February 16, 1992 in Essen ) is a German - Serbian football player . His preferred position is the defensive midfield . He can also be used as a right full -back.

Career

Stevanović began playing football at TuS Essen-West , from which he moved to the youth department of Rot-Weiss Essen . From the 2009/10 season he played for the A youth team of FC Schalke 04 together with his brother Predrag Stevanović .

For the 2011/12 season he moved to Werder Bremen , where his brother had been transferred six months earlier. On July 23, 2011 he made his debut in the third division against SV Wehen Wiesbaden on the starting line-up. Stevanović made his debut for Werder's first team in the 2011/12 season on November 19, 2011 (13th matchday) in the 5-0 defeat against Borussia Mönchengladbach . Ten days later he tore a cruciate ligament while exercising and was out for five months. At the beginning of the 2012/13 season he suffered another setback, again during training he broke his collarbone and had to take another six months off.

In January 2013 Stevanović should be loaned to the Dutch first division club PEC Zwolle after a trial session for the second half of the 2012/13 season . Since he did not get a work permit in the Netherlands , the loan deal, which had already been reported as perfect, did not materialize.

Stevanović left Werder Bremen after the 2013/14 season . On September 19, 2014, he signed a contract with FC Hansa Rostock until summer 2016 . After a cruciate ligament tear at the beginning of the second half of the season, he was out for the rest of the season. After Stevanović was only able to play two games for Rostock in the 2015/16 season, he tore his cruciate ligament for the third time in the away game against Wehen Wiesbaden . After three years in the service of the cog, 36 competitive games and a total of four goals for Hansa, the cooperation in Rostock ended at the end of the 2016/17 season. Stevanović moved to the regional league for SV Elversberg and signed a working paper there until 2018 plus an option.
