Alessandro Fei (born November 29, 1978 in Saronno ) is an Italian volleyball player . He took part in four Olympic tournaments and was world champion and three times European champion.
Career
Fei began his career in 1993 in Foiano della Chiana . A year later he came to the offspring of Ignis Padua , before playing for the first division club Pallavolo Padua from 1995 . In 1998 the diagonal attacker made his debut in the Italian national team , with whom he became world champion in Japan that same year by beating Yugoslavia in the final . He then moved to Lube Macerata within the league . The national team won the World League and the European Championship with Fei in 1999 . In 2000, the Italians managed to defend their title in the world league . Then Fei experienced his first Olympic Games in Sydney and won bronze with the team. The following season he won the Italian Cup and the CEV Cup with Macerata . At the European Championship in the Czech Republic, however, the Italians lost in the final against Yugoslavia. Fei now switched to Sisley Treviso . In 2003 he was Italian champion and triumphed again in the CEV Cup, with Treviso prevailing in the final against his former club Macerata. Italy won the European Championship in Germany . In 2004, the middle blocker took part in the Olympic tournament for the second time after winning the Italian double , which ended for Italy in the final against Brazil . In 2005 Fei defended the championship and cup victory with Treviso as well as with the national team the title at the European championship in their own country. Treviso won the Champions League final in Rome in 2006 against Iraklis Thessaloniki . In 2007 the club achieved their third double in Italy with Fei. In 2008, the middle blocker experienced its third Olympic tournament , in which the national team took fourth place. In 2011 he won the CEV Cup with Treviso against Zaksa Kędzierzyn-Koźle . In 2012 he won the bronze medal with Italy at the Olympic Games in London . Then he went to league rivals Pallavolo Piacenza .
