Alex Deibold (born May 8, 1986 in New Haven ) is an American snowboarder . He starts in snowboard cross.

Career

Deibold took part from 2003 to 2009 mainly in the European Cup, where he finished second in the overall snowboard cross ranking in the 2008/09 season . He drove his first World Cup race in Furano in February 2007 , which he finished in 26th place in snowboard cross. At the Snowboard World Championships 2007 in Arosa , he achieved 15th place in snowboard cross. In March 2007 he reached eighth place in Lake Placid for the first time a top ten placement in the World Cup. At the Snowboard World Championships 2011 in La Molina he came in 26th place. In February 2013 he took second place in Sochi, his first podium in the World Cup. At the beginning of the 2013/14 Olympic season he finished third in Lake Louise . At his first Olympic participation in Sochi in 2014, he won bronze in snowboard cross. At the 2015 Snowboard World Championships on Kreischberg , he finished 17th. In March 2015 he finished second in La Molina and finished the 2014/15 season in sixth place in the snowboard cross classification. In the following season he came seven times in the World Cup, three times under the top ten and finished 13th in the Snowboard Cross World Cup. After finishing tenth in Montafon at the beginning of the 2016/17 season, he finished third in Solitude and second in Veysonnaz and thus achieved sixth place in the Snowboard Cross World Cup. In addition, he and Nate Holland took third place in the team competition in Solitude . At the season highlight of the 2017 Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada , he came in 15th place in the individual competition and in seventh place together with Nate Holland in the team competition.
