Alexander Petrovich Gerasimow ( Russian Александр Петрович Герасимов ; born March 19, 1959 in Penza , Russian SFSR ; † May 21, 2020 ) was a Russian ice hockey player .
Career
Gerasimov began his career in his hometown with Diselist Penza . In 1977 he took part in the U18 European Championship with the Soviet U18 national team and won the bronze medal. In the following two years he was a member of the U20 national team, which won the gold medal at the U20 World Championships in 1978 and 1979 .
In 1980 he moved to the army club CSKA Moscow, where he won seven Soviet championship titles between 1981 and 1987 and the European Cup seven times in a row .
1982 Gerasimow was appointed to the team of the Soviet national ice hockey team and was on December 12, 1982 in a game against Sweden for the first time for the senior team of Sbornaya on the ice. His international career was crowned with a gold medal at the 1984 Winter Olympics . For the national team, he scored a total of 21 goals in 42 international matches. On April 4, 1986, he played his last international match. In 1984 he was honored as Honored Master of Sports of the USSR and with the medal "For heroic work" .
In 1988 he ended his career during which he scored a total of 73 goals in 232 games in the Vysschaya League .
