Alexandra of Lithuania

Alexandra of Lithuania (* around 1360 in Vilnius , † April 20 or June 19, 1434 in Płońsk ) was a princess of Lithuania and a sister of King Władysław II Jagiełło of Poland .

Life

Princess Alexandra was born as the daughter of Grand Duke Olgierd Alexander of Lithuania (~ 1296–1377) and Juliana Aleksandrovna Tverskaja (Uljana of Tver , ~ 1330– ~ 1392). On December 12, 1385, shortly after the Union of Krewo , Duke Ziemowit IV of Mazovia (~ 1350-1426) with Hedwig of Anjou (officially called "King" of Poland) with her future husband Władysław II Jagiełło agreed, none To lay claim to the Kingdom of Poland. For this he received 10,000 Prague groschen as compensation and the Duchy of Belz as a fief . This pact was sealed by Ziemowit's marriage to Alexandra in 1387.
