Alexandrijskaja ( Russian Александри́йская ) is a staniza in the Stavropol region in Russia with 11,761 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The place is located in the steppe on the northern edge of the Greater Caucasus, 150 km as the crow flies southeast of the regional administrative center of Stavropol , on the left bank of the Kuma .
Alexandrijskaja belongs to the Georgijewski Rajon and is located about 15 km northwest of its administrative center Georgievsk . Stanitsa is the seat of the rural community (selskoje posselenije) Alexandrijski selsowet, which also includes the settlement of Terski (4 km south) and the hamlet of Khutor imeni Kirowa (6 km west).
history
The place was established in 1784 as a Cossack camp between the Georgijewskaja and Alexandrowskaja fortresses founded a few years earlier on the southern border . The first residents were relocated from the Saratov governorate . The place name refers to Alexander Nevsky .
In 1831 Alexandrijskaja received the status of Stanitsa. From 1935 to 1953 it was the administrative seat of the Alexandrijsko-Obilnenski rajon.

Alexandrijskaja is located on the Mineralnyje Vody - Georgijewsk - Novopawlowsk regional road (part of the former R262). The railway line Rostov-on-Don - Vladikavkaz / Makhachkala - Baku, opened in 1875 and electrified on this section since 1963 , runs along the far right Kumaufer . The Winogradnaja station is located there at kilometer 1858 (from Moscow ) .
