Alf Mintzel (born December 21, 1981 in Würzburg ) is a former German professional soccer player who is an amateur at SG Walluf . In addition, he is employed in the marketing department of SV Wehen Wiesbaden .
Career
Mintzel played in his Lower Franconian homeland in Rimpar and at Würzburger FV and was signed by the second division team Greuther Fürth in 2003 . There he was not only used in the second, but also five times in the first team, but after the one year he went one class lower to the Middle Franconian neighbor 1. SC Feucht in the regional league, in which the left winger is a regular player in the team established.
During the winter break he received an offer from Kickers Offenbach . With the Hessians he rose to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2005 and was part of the second division squad in the following two years. As a supplementary player, he made 15 appearances each season. From 2007 to 2010 Mintzel played in the 3rd division at SV Sandhausen . For the 2010/11 season he moved to league competitor SV Wehen Wiesbaden , with whom he signed a contract until June 30, 2012, which he later extended to 2017. On May 14, 2016, Mintzel secured Wiesbaden's stay in the 3rd division with his goal to make it 3-1 in stoppage time in the last game of the season against the second team of VfB Stuttgart . In April 2017, his contract with SV Wehen Wiesbaden was extended for another year, and he should also be involved in the club after his active career.
In the 2017/18 season he played his 300th game in the 3rd division in a 2-1 draw against 1. FC Magdeburg , making him the second player to reach this mark after Tim Danneberg .
After promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga with SV Wehen, Mintzel ended his active career in spring 2019. He had played 325 third division games, 272 of them for Hessen.
After the active career
After the end of his professional career, Mintzel worked in the marketing department of SV Wehen and played as an amateur for the Wiesbaden group division club SG Walluf .
