Alfons Knoll

Alfons Knoll (born February 25, 1957 in Untersulmetingen ) is a German theologian .

Life

Until 1976 he attended the math.-naturwiss. High school in Laupheim . From 1976 to 1981 he studied Catholic theology in Tübingen and Munich as a candidate for the priesthood of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart ( Episcopal Theologenkonvikt Wilhelmsstift Tübingen ). From 1981 to 1983 he completed the second training phase (pastoral course) at the Rottenburg seminary . After being ordained as a diaconate on December 19, 1981 in Rottenburg am Neckar , he completed the diaconate year from 1982 to 1983 in the cathedral parish of Dom St. Martin (Rottenburg) . After the ordination in Ulm - Wiblingen on June 25, 1983, he was vicar in the parish of St. Josef in Stuttgart-Heslach from 1983 to 1985 . From 1985 to 1987 he was a repetiteur at the Wilhelmsstift in Tübingen (Bischöfliches Theologenkonvikt) with a focus on dogmatics and fundamental theology and began a doctoral thesis with Walter Kasper on faith and culture with Romano Guardini . From 1987 to 1990 he was a repetiteur at the seminary in Rottenburg (continuation of the doctorate with Peter Hünermann ). From 1990 to 1996 he worked pastorally in Starzach . After receiving his doctorate on October 19, 1993 as Dr. theol. at the Kath.-Theol. The faculty of the University of Tübingen was released from 1996 to 2003 for the habilitation in Freiburg im Breisgau and for subsequent lecturing. After completing his habilitation on July 12, 2001 with Peter Walter in Freiburg im Breisgau for dogmatics and the history of dogmas with the work “Derselbe Geist. An investigation into the understanding of the church by the first Jesuits ”. From 2001 to 2003 he was a private lecturer for dogmatics in Freiburg, lecturer in moral theology at the Fachakademie für Gemeindepastoral Freiburg (training center for community officers ), pastoral worker in the parishes of the pastoral care unit Gutach im Breisgau- Bleibach and lecturer in the PTH Vallendar as well as at the University of Koblenz-Landau ( Landaach location ). From October 2003 he was a professor for systematic theology ( fundamental theology ) at the Faculty for Catholic Theology in Regensburg . From April 2004 he has been professor of systematic theology (fundamental theology) at the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Regensburg , where he was Vice Dean of the Faculty of Catholic Theology from 2009 to 2010 . From January 29, 2012, he was deputy chairman of the Catholic Theological Faculty Conference. From 2014 to 2017 he was chairman of the Catholic Theological Faculty Conference and has been its deputy chairman since 2017.
