Alfred Naumann
Alfred Naumann (* 1847 in Hainichen ; † January 20, 1917 in Dresden ) was a German photographer and community elder.
Live and act
After completing his training in the arts and crafts and after completing his military service, Naumann took over the art institute for photography and arts and crafts in Leipzig , Dorotheen-Str. 12. As “Königl. Saxon, Herzogl. Saxon. Mine. u. Herzogl. Saxon. Altenburg Hof Photograph ”he photographed numerous prominent personalities of his time. Photographs by Naumann are now kept in the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, for example .
In 1896 Naumann withdrew from his company and moved to Niederlößnitz in a villa at Karl-Liebknecht-Straße 3 . In Niederlößnitz he became a member of the municipal council in the same year, to which he belonged until his death in 1917, finally becoming the first church elder . As chairman of the building committee, Naumann made numerous contributions to the local building regulations, which the Niederlößnitz preserved the character of the villa development. He was a member of the Leipzig Masonic Lodge Balduin zur Linde .
Naumann, who with his wife Anna Marie geb. Muenzer (1857-1918) recently in the cottage-like, today under monument protection standing villa Ledenweg 14 lived (then Schulstraße 6) died in 1917 in Dresden . His widow, who outlived him by a year, ordered the establishment of the Alfred Naumann Foundation for charitable and non-profit purposes , to which she bequeathed all of her assets. The non-profit foundation with legal capacity was transferred to the collective foundation of the city of Radebeul at the beginning of 1949 .
A street in Niederlößnitz has been named after Alfred Naumann since 1920.
