Alfredo Foglino (born February 1, 1892 in Montevideo , Uruguay , † July 9, 1968 ) was a Uruguayan football player and coach .
Player career
Club career
The right- back called El primer Mariscal began his career at Colón Fútbol Club and then played from 1911 to 1925 at Nacional Montevideo . He also took part in the club's major European tour in 1925. In 1928 he was used again in a friendly game. With the Bolsos he won a total of nine Uruguayan championship titles (1912, 1915, 1916, 1917, 1919, 1920, 1922, 1923 and 1924), was captain of the team for ten years and was used in 409 games.
National team
For the national team of Uruguay, he completed from his debut on August 15, 1912 to his last use on July 22, 1923 47 internationals, in which he did not succeed in scoring. During this period he took with Celeste at the 1916 South American Championship , 1917 , 1919 , 1920 and the tournament in 1921 in part. His team was able to win the title of South American champion in 1916, 1917 and 1920. Also winning the Copa Caridad Sir Thomas Lipton in 1912, as well as three times the Copa Nicanor R. He later held a leading position at Nacional for many years. He died in 1968 in close proximity to the deaths of José Nasazzis and Raúl Judes , who all blessed the temporal within two weeks.
