Ali Yousuf Ahmad Saad Al Rumaihi ( Arabic علي الرميحي, Born August 26, 1981 ) is a show jumper from Qatar .
Career
Ali Al Rumaihi had contact with horses at an early age: his father ran a stud for Arab horses in Syria, and he later became president of the Qatari Equestrian Federation. Ali Al Rumaihi started riding at the stud at the age of six. He started show jumping in Qatar, and his younger brother Mubarak Al Rumaihi is also active as a show jumper.
Al Rumaihi's first international championship earned him an individual title: At the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, he won individual gold with Nagano . At his second Asian Games, in 2010 in Guangzhou , he came in fifth place in the individual ranking. His most successful championship was the Pan-Arab Games in 2011 , where Qatar won the team silver medal and Al Rumaihi won individual gold with Ravenna .
In October 2013 the armed forces of Qatar bought Janika Sprunger's successful horse Palloubet d'Halong for him for an eight-digit euro amount , but Al Rumaihi was never able to build on Spritzer's successes. The two greatest successes were a second place in the world cup competition in Dubai (CSI 3 * -W) as well as the second place in the Nations Cup in al-Ain 2014 . From the second half of 2014 the gelding was ridden by Bassem Hassan Mohammed . The mare California, owned by the armed forces, which he had only taken over from Ali bin Chalid Al Thani at the beginning of 2015 , was also trained by Bassem Hassan Mohammed from July 2015.
In 2016 Al Rumaihi only presented one horse in international sport with Gunder , the gelding is owned by the Qatari Equestrian Federation. With this he had already belonged to the victorious Qatar team in the Abu Dhabi Nations Cup in February 2015 . Ali Al Rumaihi finished his first Olympic Games in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro in 16th place.
