Aljaž Cotman (born April 26, 1994 in Kranj ) is a Slovenian football goalkeeper who has been under contract with NK Maribor since 2013 .
Career
society
Aljaž Cotman started his career in 2000 in the youth of NK Triglav Kranj , the club from his hometown. In 2010 he moved to the Wolverhampton Wanderers youth academy in England , where he signed his first professional contract in March 2012. However, he was not used for the "Wolves", so he decided to return to his home country before his contract expired. On October 21, 2013, the change to the Slovenian record champions NK Maribor was perfect, Cotman signed a contract until 2017. He made his professional debut with the Violets on November 13, 2013 in a 5-2 win over NK Šenčur . On May 17, 2014, Cotman finally came to his first league game, namely the away game against ND Gorica (2-1).
He finished the 2013/14 season with Maribor in first place in the table, Cotman himself made two league appearances during the season. In the play-offs of qualifying for the 2014/15 UEFA Champions League , he and his team managed a big surprise, after a 1-1 draw at home they managed a 1-0 win at Celtic Glasgow , making it the first time since 1999 returned to the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
National team
Cotman went through all the U-national teams, from the U-15 up to the U-21 . In 2014 he was still part of the Slovenian U-21 national team, but is usually only second choice behind Ažbe Jug from Girondins Bordeaux .
