Dare Vršič (born September 26, 1984 in Maribor ) is a Slovenian football player . The attacking midfielder has been under contract with the Slovenian club NK Maribor since 2014 .

Athletic career

Vršič began his career with Mura Murska Sobota , for whom he played two years in the Slovenska Nogometna League from 2001 . He then moved on to NK Celje , where he showed his goal threat for the first time on the side of Mitja Brulc , Robert Koren and Dragan Čadikovski with eight goals this season. Nevertheless, the team had missed the championship round as seventh in the table of the regular round. Successful in the following season with six goals, the club finished second this time. In the championship finals, NK Domžale finally passed and the team moved into the European Cup as third in the table.

In the summer of 2005 Vršič left his home country and hired the Slovak club MŠK Žilina . Here, too, he distinguished himself as a dangerous attacking player and won the national championship title with the club in 2007. On the one hand, the first appointments to the Slovenian national team followed in 2007 and on the other hand, he was poached by the Romanian club FC Timișoara after two seasons . There he was only used sporadically, however, in the second half of the 2009/10 season he was awarded to FC Koper in his home country. As a regular goalscorer until the end of the season, he was instrumental in winning the championship alongside Miran Pavlin , Dalibor Radujko and Nebojša Kovačevič . He played his way into the 30-man provisional squad of national coach Matjaž Kek before the 2010 World Cup , but was one of the first to leave together with goalkeeper Jan Koprivec , defender Aleksandar Rajčević and striker Miran Burgić .

After Vršič was on his return to Romania further to the supplementary player, he returned to Slovenia in early 2011. At NK Olimpija Ljubljana he was the league's top scorer with 22 goals in the 2011/12 season and thus led the club to second place in the table. He then tried again abroad and joined FK Austria Wien in Austria's capital and was Austrian champion at the end of the season. In the next season, however, Vršič could not prevail and was only once in the squad. In the following winter transfer period, he moved to NK Maribor. Dare Vršič is currently no longer a Slovenian national player. His first goal for NK Maribor was in the Europa League against Sevilla FC.
