Allenbach is a district of Hilchenbach , Siegen-Wittgenstein district . It consists of the districts Allenbach, Haarhausen and Sieben Eichen.
history
The place was first mentioned as "Altpach" on September 23, 1337 during the transfer of tax claims from a nobleman to the Count of Nassau.
The district of Haarhausen, which was an independent municipality until 1930, was first mentioned in a document on April 27, 1248 and was incorporated into Allenbach on August 1, 1930.
Until the municipal reorganization on January 1, 1969, the place belonged to the Keppel office .

Others
In Allenbach there are the former Premonstratensian monastery Stift Keppel (today a public high school ) with the collegiate church of St. Maria and St.Johannes-Evangelist, a historic town center with many half-timbered houses , almost all of which were built after the great fire of the 14th and 15th centuries. 15th December 1781, which destroyed 14 houses. The large hammer mill , the Allenbacher Hammer, dominates the townscape and has long been an important employer in the Ferndorftal valley, which is dominated by the mining industry . In addition, there is the Breitenbachtalsperre in Allenbach , which is used for the drinking water supply and flood protection. Allenbach has its own train stop ( Stift Keppel-Allenbach ) on the Kreuztal – Cölbe railway line .
Allenbach has three local sports clubs: TV Allenbach , the Red Sox Allenbach soccer club and the Allenbach 1956 shooting club. V.
