Allersdorf is a district of the rural community of City Großbreitenbach in Ilm-Kreis ( Thuringia ) with about 150 inhabitants.

geography

Allersdorf is about 600 meters above sea level on a plateau in the Thuringian Slate Mountains . To the east of the village, the Schwarzatal cuts deep into the rocks, to the west of Allersdorf the 808 meter high Lange Berg rises . The 631 meter high Hasenberg is located on the southern outskirts . The plateau around the place is unforested, while the deep valley cuts in the area are mostly overgrown with spruce and maple stands. The place is located on the Finkenbachtal, which leads east to the Schwarza.

history

Allersdorf was first mentioned in 1370 as Albrechtisdorf . The place was once part of the sovereignty of the Grafschaft Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt and their office in Königsee . The Mellenbach monastery also had fiefdoms on site until the Reformation . In the Thirty Years War , the place was probably destroyed and re-established on the northern slope of the Hasenberg. In 1863, a severe fire destroyed eleven houses and seven barns. In 1922 Allersdorf came to the district of Rudolstadt, in 1952 to the district of Ilmenau . It has been part of the Ilm district since 1994 , but the border with the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district runs about 200 meters north of Allersdorf, which was incorporated into Herschdorf on May 1, 1974 . On January 1, 2019, Allersdorf became a district of this rural community with the formation of the rural community town of Großbreitenbach.

Historically important branches of the economy were cattle breeding, coal and pitch extraction, later also the processing of herbs and linen weaving. After 1945, cattle breeding was particularly important in Allersdorf, as was toy manufacture. After the construction of a cottage settlement in 1963, Allersdorf became a holiday resort in 1965. The nearby FDGB holiday home Bad Finkenmühle was one of the first FDGB homes in the GDR.

politics

Local mayor has been Gerd Siegmund (independent) since the local elections in Thuringia on May 26, 2019. Together with four other members, it forms the local council.

Economy and Transport

The inhabitants of the place lived for centuries from sheep breeding and the associated weaving as well as from charcoal burning . At the beginning of the 20th century tourism was added as an economic branch. Today most of the residents work outside of Allersdorf. There is a large holiday home area in the village, where numerous people spend their holidays every year.

Allersdorf is on the road from Herschdorf to Mellenbach-Glasbach in the Schwarzatal.

Bad Finkenmühle

Bad Finkenmühle was a spa hotel in the Finkenbachtal near the town. It was opened in 1905 and was the first nudist bath in Thuringia. In the GDR era, the building complex was used as an FDGB rest home. It has been empty since 1990. In 2015 all the buildings except one house were demolished.
