Wild Spring is a district of the rural community of City Großbreitenbach in Ilm-Kreis in Thuringia in Germany .

geography

Wildenspring is located on the Großbreitenbach plateau between the Long Mountain in the west and the Schwarzatal in the east. To the north of the village lies the Junkersbach valley, and the Kurau flows to the south. Both are tributaries of the Schwarza. The Wildenspringer Forest is located east of the village on the western slope of the Schwarza Valley. Wildenspring's local mountain is the 667 meter high, unforested Beerberg.

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1370 . The manor of the place belonged to those of Holleben . Until 1920 Wildenspring belonged to Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt ( suzerainty ), then to the Arnstadt district , between 1952 and 1994 to the Ilmenau district and since 1994 to the Ilm district .

From 1994 the community belonged to the administrative community Großbreitenbach . The administrative seat was in the city of Großbreitenbach . On January 1, 2019, this was converted into the rural municipality of Großbreitenbach.

Economy and Transport

The inhabitants of Wildenspring lived for centuries from weaving , agriculture and forestry . Today most of the wild jumpers work outside of town. In addition, fluorspar was mined near the village for the Mankenbach smelter . The PreciPoint company has been active in the Edelhof since 2012 and is one of the largest employers in town.

Only one road leads from Wildenspring, which connects the place with Böhlen .
