All just stolen is a song by the Leipzig a cappella group Die Prinzen from their album of the same name . The song was released as a single by Hansa / BMG Ariola Media GmbH in September 1993 . The maxi single contains three different versions of the title track as well as a medley.

At the same time as the single, Die Prinzen released the video. In this clip, which is not underlaid with the single version known from radio, but with the rockier version called "Guitar Mix", videos from other bands (including Queen - I Want to Break Free , U2 - Numb , Robert Palmer - Addicted to Love , U96 - Love Sees No Color , The Beloved - Sweet Harmony , ZZ Top , Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer , The Cure - Lullaby , Genesis - I Can't Dance , AC / DC - Big Gun , Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence , Pet Shop Boys - Can You Forgive Her , Kiss ) parodied.

The cover of the maxi CD consists of an illustration showing a frog's foot reaching for a crown. Thomas Sassenbach is named as responsible for the art direction and Knut Jaspersen for the illustration .

Involved

At the time of publication, Die Prinzen consisted of Sebastian Krumbiegel (vocals), Tobias Künzel (vocals), Wolfgang Lenk (guitar, vocals), Henri Schmidt (vocals) and Jens Sembdner (vocals).

Annette Humpe worked as a producer . Only the second track of the maxi, the guitar mix, was produced by Graham Laybourne. The arranger of the recordings was Wolfgang Lenk. Andreas Herbig, Laybourne and Axel Wernecke were responsible for the rhythm programming. Laybourne's songs were recorded and mixed in the “Boogie Park Studio Hamburg”. Achim Kruse did the mastering. Tolga Flim Flam Balkan was also involved in the production of the medley . All pieces have been published by “Moderato / G. Glueck Musik GmbH ”.

Schematic structure and instrumentation

The song is structured according to the following typical scheme: first verse - chorus - second verse - chorus - third verse - chorus, whereby the chorus is always brought only once, even with the last appearance.

The key is E minor throughout.

The song is instrumented as follows:

  • Singing: lead and striking, polyphonic background choir
  • Drums: Kick in the typical 4-to-the-floor groove, as well as continuous snare, hi-hat and occasionally tom-toms
  • Synthesizer: medium, rhythmic ostinato
  • Electronic bass

The original version of the song is relatively short at only 2:33. The tempo is around 160 BPM.
