history

Foundation and Tsar

Guitarist Victor Smolski (2016)

In February 2015 the guitarist Victor Smolski left the band Rage . Two months later he founded the band Almanac to continue the Lingua Mortis Orchestra project that he initiated . In addition to Smolski, the singers Jeannette Marchewka and Dana Harnge, the singers Andy B. Franck ( Brainstorm ) and David Readman ( Pink Cream 69 ) belonged to the first line-up. The band was later completed by bassist Armin Alic, keyboardist Enric Garcia and drummer Michael Kolar. After the band made their first appearance at Musikmesse Frankfurt , Almanac were signed by Nuclear Blast in May 2015 .

Without Dana Harnge, who has since dropped out, the band recorded their debut album Tsar , which was produced by Orden-Ogan singer Sebastian "Seeb" Levermann and was released on March 18, 2016. The album reached number 74 in the German and number 87 in the Swiss album charts. At the 2016 Metal Hammer Awards , Tsar was nominated for Best Debut Album, but the award went to Abbath . Almanac played a tour supporting Orden Ogan and performed at the Summer Breeze and Metal Hammer Paradise festivals . A year later, Almanac played at the Masters of Rock .

Kingslayer and Rush of Death

Almanac live (2018)

Armin Alic, Enric Garcia and Michael Kolar left the band in 2017. Her successors were Tim Rashid (bass) and Athanasios Tsoukas (drums). The second studio album Kingslayer , which was released on November 24, 2017, was recorded together in the Heyday Studios in Wuppertal . Victor Smolski played all the keyboards and took over the production. In contrast to the debut album, Kingslayer missed the charts . In February 2017, Almanac played their first headlining tour with support groups Gloryful and Lichtgestalt . At the beginning of 2018, the two singers Andy B. Franck and David Readman and drummer Athanasios Tsoukas got out. For this, singer Patrick Sühl and for a short time the drummer Marc Dzierzon joined the band.

This was followed by two concerts in South Korea and an appearance as part of the Werner race . Kevin Kott joined the band as the new drummer, who played a headlining tour with supporters Enemy Inside and New Level in March 2019 . The band then recorded their third studio album, Rush of Death , which was released on March 6, 2020 and reached number 67 in the German album charts. With Frank Beck from the band Gamma Ray , another singer joined the band. In March 2020, Almanac toured Europe as the opening act for Lordi . However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the tour had to be canceled.
