Alpár Salló, who belongs to the Hungarian-speaking Szekler minority in Romania , started his career in the youth department of HSC Csíkszereda , the traditional ice hockey club of the Szeklers. In 2011 he moved to Krefeld EV in the German Junior League . With the Krefelders he reached the semifinals of this highest German junior division. After a year he returned to his home club and played there first in the Romanian league and since 2013 in the multinational MOL league . With the club from Miercurea Ciuc , he won the Romanian championship title in 2013 and the cup competition in 2014 . Towards the end of the 2014/15 season he switched to CS Progym Gheorgheni . where he ended the season. He then returned to HSC Csíkszereda, with whom he was again champion and cup winner in 2018.

International

In contrast to other Szeklers who play for Hungary , Salló plays internationally for his native Romania . He was already active in the junior division at world championships and played in Division II in the U18 championships in 2011 and 2012 as well as in the U20 world championships in 2012 , 2013 and 2014 .

He made his debut in the men's national team at the Division I World Championships in 2014 , when he had to relegate his team. But already at the 2015 World Cup , Division II was immediately promoted again. In the following years Salló commuted between the two divisions with the Romanians.
