The Alpha Ethniki Gynekon is the highest women's soccer league in Greece . The championship team qualifies for participation in the UEFA Women's Champions League .

history

The league was founded in 1987. The first two seasons took place under the name Pan-Hellenic Championship . Between the 1989/90 season and 1991/92 the first division was called the Hellenic Football Federation Pan-Hellenic Championship , before it was renamed Alpha Ethniki Gynekon ( English Women's A-Ethniki ) from the 1992/93 season . The first master team was Ilioupoli Saloniki . The record champions are PAOK Thessaloniki with 14 titles .
