The joint Italian - Austrian - Slovenian ice hockey league called Alps Hockey League will enter its fifth season in 2020/21 .

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the previous season was canceled without a master. The mode of the league is still unclear due to the pandemic. The league is preparing to make the game operations purely national if necessary, if national requirements prevent cross-border operations. The start of the season is planned for October 8th at the earliest.

Attendees

EK Zell am See withdrew from the previous year's participants in spring and Vienna Capitals Silver in June 2020. The application for membership of HC Meran was rejected by the Italian association because it was submitted late.

This means that 16 teams can take part in the league.
