Aljona Lanskaja ( Belarusian : Алëна Ланская, born September 9, 1985 in Mahiljou ) is a Belarusian pop singer .

life and career

The singer, who had previously won singing competitions, won the preliminary decision show for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku by SMS voting . With her pop song All My Life , she prevailed against four competitors. However, when protests on the Internet over allegedly bought votes became more and more numerous, President Aljaksandr Lukashenka personally appointed the second-placed group Litesound to represent Belarus at the competition.

She took part again in the national preliminary round of the EuroFest for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest . With the title Rhythm of Love , she was able to prevail against nine competitors with high scores from the jury and audience and represented her country in Malmö in 2013 . However, after an internal selection by a jury of the state broadcaster BTRL, the Latin pop song Solayoh was selected for the competition, with which Lanskaja reached the finals at the ESC 2013 and took 16th place.

For the ESC 2017 she announced that she was aiming to participate in the European music show again.
