Amandine Beyer

Amandine Beyer (* 1974 in Aix-en-Provence ) is a French violinist who is mainly active in the field of historical performance practice .

Life

Amandine Beyer began learning the recorder and violin at the conservatory in her hometown at the age of four. In 1990 she moved to the Paris Conservatory , where she completed her studies with great success in 1994. In 1995 she came to Chiara Banchini at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis , where she began studying the baroque violin . Here she received her soloist diploma in 1999. During her time in Basel, she studied musicology and submitted a thesis on Karlheinz Stockhausen .

Since 1997 Amandine Beyer has played regularly in Chiara Banchini's "Ensemble 415", later in the various formations of Jordi Savall and as concertmaster in "Le Concert Français" under Pierre Hantaï , "La Fénice" under Jean Tubéry , or she appears as a soloist with the "Ensemble Café Zimmermann" under Pablo Valetti . Occasionally she plays Vivaldi's concertos for two violins with Giuliano Carmignola .

She is co-founder of various chamber ensembles such as the “Les Cornets Noirs” or the “L'Assemblée des honestes curieux”, with which she won the 1998 Premio Bonporti in Rovereto. In 2001 she won the Antonio Vivaldi competition for baroque violin in Turin. In 2006 she made her first appearance with her own chamber orchestra "Gli Incogniti" and received top reviews and record awards for her Vivaldi and Bach recordings.

Since 2000 she has been a guest at baroque music festivals all over Europe, both as a soloist and as a chamber music partner of various other soloists and ensembles.

Amandine Beyer is professor for baroque violin at the Escola Superior de Música e das Artes do Espectaculo in Porto and teaches various master classes. Since September 2010 she has been leading the baroque violin class at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis together with Leila Schayegh .
