action
Pushpa is a young woman who, however, cannot give birth to her husband. Reason enough for him to throw her out of the house and marry a second wife. There is already bad whispering about Pushpa in the village and after a false accusation, she is even thrown out of the house by her own mother. A family friend, Nepal Babu, takes her to Calcutta and puts her in a brothel. There, thanks to her beautiful voice, she quickly becomes a star and attracts the attention of the rich alcoholic Anand Babu. He visits Pushpa every night because his own wife completely neglects him.
Years later, Pushpa has built a small existence in the red light district . Finally, a man from her village moves into a neighboring house, but he doesn't want anything to do with her.
