Amphoe Mae Lao (in Thai : อำเภอ แม่ ลาว , pronunciation: ʔāmpʰɤ̄ː mɛ̂ː lāːw ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) of the Chiang Rai Province . Chiang Rai Province is located in the far north of the northern region of Thailand .

history

The circle was founded on May 31, 1993 as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) , consisting of the four Tambon Dong Mada, Chom Mok Kaeo, Bua Sali and Pa Ko Dam of the Mueang Chiang Rai County . On December 5, 1996, Pa Daet was granted full amphoe status.

Local administration

There are three municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Dong Mada (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ดง มะ ดะ ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Dong Mada.
  • Pa Ko Dam (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ป่า ก่อ ดำ ) consisting of the parts of the Tambon Chom Mok Kaeo, Pa Ko Dam.
  • Mae Lao (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล แม่ ลาว ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Dong Mada.

There are also four " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

  • Chom Mok Kaeo (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล จอม หมอก แก้ว ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Chom Mok Kaeo.
  • Bua Sali (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล บัว ส ลี ) consisting of the complete tambon Bua Sali.
  • Pa Ko Dam (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ป่า ก่อ ดำ ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Pa Ko Dam.
  • Pong Phrae (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล โป่ง แพร่ ) consisting of the complete Tambon Pong Phrae.
