Amphoe Wihan Daeng ( Thai : อำเภอ วิหารแดง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the southern part of Saraburi Province . The Saraburi Province is located in the central region of Thailand .

etymology

The word Wihan Daeng means "Red Wihan ", a Buddhist building of the Lawa in the area of ​​Ban Lam, which was built with red bricks. The Rote Wihan no longer exists today.

Neighboring districts (clockwise from west): Amphoe Nong Khae , Amphoe Mueang Saraburi and Amphoe Kaeng Khoi of Saraburi Province, Amphoe Ban Na of Nakhon Nayok Province and Amphoe Nong Suea of Pathum Thani Province .

history

Amphoe Wihan Daeng was initially set up as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) in 1937 , by separating the Tambon Nong Moo from the Amphoe Nong Khae . The administration was relocated to Ban Lam on Suwannason Road in 1957. The district was renamed Wihan Daeng on April 12, 1961, and at the same time it received full amphoe status.

  • Wihan Daeng (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล วิหารแดง ) consisting of the parts of the Tambon Ban Lam, Khlong Ruea, Wihan Daeng, Nong Suang, Charoen Tham.
  • Nong Mu (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง หมู ) consisting of the parts of the Tambon Nong Mu, Wihan Daeng, Nong Suang.

  • Charoen Tham (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล เจริญ ธรรม ) consisting of parts of the tambon Charoen Tham.
