Amphoe Muak Lek ( Thai : อำเภอ มวกเหล็ก ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the east of Saraburi Province . Saraburi is located in the central region of Thailand .

Muak Lek is the largest district in Saraburi in terms of area, it is located in the east of the province.
Neighboring districts (clockwise from north): Amphoe Phattana Nikhom , Tha Luang and Lam Sonthi of Lop Buri Province , Amphoe Sikhio and Pak Chong of Nakhon Ratchasima Province , Amphoe Mueang Nakhon Nayok of Nakhon Nayok Province, and Amphoe Kaeng Khoi and Amphoe Wang Muang Saraburi Province.
The district is located in the Phetchabun Mountains , which separate central Thailand from northeast Thailand ( Isan ) . In the south of the province lies the Khao Yai National Park .

The district is crossed by both the Mittraphap Highway ( Thanon Mittraphap ) and the northeast line of the Thai railroad .
history
The district of Muak Lek was established on December 27, 1968 by dividing the area of the former tambon Muak Lek in Amphoe Kaeng Khoi into three individual tambon with 33 village communities, and from this the new district of Muak Lek was created. The new district began its work on January 21, 1969, and the current administration building was inaugurated on May 7, 1970.
In 1988, the north-western area was separated in order to set up the "Branch Circle" ( King Amphoe ) Wang Muang.

Mission College of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is located in Amphoe Muak Lek . The international school AIMS (Adventist International Mission School) is also located in Muak Lek.

- Mittraphap (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล มิตรภาพ ) consisting of parts of the tambon Mittraphap.
- Nong Yang Suea (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล หนอง ย่าง เสือ ) consisting of the complete tambon Nong Yang Suea.
- Lam Somphung (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ลำ สม พุง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Lam Somphung.
- Lam Phaya Klang (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ลำ พญา กลาง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Lam Phaya Klang.
- Sap Sanun (Thai: องค์การ บริหารส่วน ตำบล ซับ สนุ่น ) consisting of the complete Tambon Sap Sanun.
